✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)is a medical treatment designed to restore testosterone levels in individuals who have low levels of this hormone due to aging, certain medical conditions, or other factors.

  • TRT is typically recommended for men who have been diagnosed with low testosterone levels (hypogonadism) by their doctor. Symptoms of low testosterone may include fatigue, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, depression, and decreased muscle mass.

  • TRT can be administered in various forms, including injections, patches, gels, and pellets. Oral testosterone has recently also become available. The most appropriate method will depend on factors such as patient preference, convenience, and medical considerations.

  • Benefits of TRT may include increased energy levels, improved mood, enhanced libido and sexual function, increased muscle mass and strength, and potential improvements in bone density.

  • Like any medical treatment, TRT carries some potential risks and side effects. These may include acne, fluid retention, breast enlargement, sleep apnea, and an increased risk of cardiovascular events in some individuals. However, these risks can often be managed through careful monitoring by your doctor.

  • The timeline for experiencing benefits from TRT can vary from person to person. Some individuals may notice improvements in symptoms within a few weeks, while others may require several months of treatment to achieve optimal results.

  • When prescribed and monitored appropriately by your doctor, TRT is generally considered safe for long-term use. However, regular monitoring of testosterone levels and overall health is important to minimize potential risks and ensure the best possible outcomes.

  • TRT can suppress sperm production, which may affect fertility in some men. However, fertility issues can often be addressed through alternative treatments or interventions. It's essential to discuss fertility concerns with your doctor before starting TRT.

  • If you're experiencing symptoms of low testosterone or have concerns about your hormone levels, it's essential to consult with a doctor who specializes in hormone therapy. Doctor Christian can evaluate your symptoms, conduct necessary tests, and recommend the most appropriate treatment options for your individual needs.

  • To get started with TRT, schedule an appointment for a blood test to assess your baseline testosterone levels. During your initial consultation, the doctor will assess your symptoms, review your lab results, and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
