Nutrient IV Therapy

Nutrient intravenous (IV) therapy, also known as IV vitamin therapy or IV infusion therapy, involves administering vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous drip. This method bypasses the digestive system, allowing for faster and more efficient absorption of nutrients.

  • The composition of nutrient IV therapy can vary depending on the individual's needs and the specific formulation used. Common nutrients included in IV therapy solutions may include vitamin C, vitamin B complex, magnesium, calcium, amino acids, and antioxidants.

Nutrient IV therapy is often used for various purposes, including:

Rehydration: IV therapy can quickly replenish fluids and electrolytes in individuals who are dehydrated due to illness, excessive sweating, or inadequate fluid intake.

Nutritional Support: IV therapy can provide essential vitamins and minerals to individuals who have nutrient deficiencies or malabsorption issues, such as those with gastrointestinal disorders or undergoing certain medical treatments.

Immune Support: High-dose vitamin C infusions are believed to boost the immune system and may be used as a complementary treatment for conditions such as colds, flu, and chronic infections.

Energy Boost: IV therapy containing B vitamins and amino acids can help improve energy levels, mental clarity, and overall vitality, making it popular among athletes, busy professionals, and individuals experiencing fatigue or burnout.

Detoxification: Some IV therapy formulations contain antioxidants and detoxifying agents that are believed to support the body's natural detoxification processes and eliminate toxins.

Anti-Aging and Skin Health: IV therapy containing antioxidants like vitamin C and glutathione may help reduce oxidative stress, promote collagen production, and improve skin elasticity, potentially slowing down the aging process and enhancing skin health.

Hangover Relief: IV therapy has gained popularity as a hangover remedy, as it can quickly rehydrate the body, replenish essential nutrients, and alleviate symptoms such as headache, nausea, and fatigue after excessive alcohol consumption.

  • NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is found in every cell of the body and is important for the mitochondria, the energy powerhouses of the cell, to convert the food we eat into energy. NAD+ also combats DNA damage (from oxidation, exposure to chemicals, etc.), and helps to regenerate and repair all cells, including neurons in the brain. In theory then, increasing NAD+ levels can slow down or reverse the effects of aging. In practice, Dr. Christian’s patients have reported improved energy, mood, mental clarity, and overall brain function after an NAD+ drip.

  • Iron deficiency anemia is a common reason one might feel a general sense of weakness, lack of energy, shortness of breath with exercise, rapid heartbeat, lightheadedness, and/or frequent headaches. Dr. Christian will need to check your ferritin (storage iron) through a blood test first to determine whether you might benefit from an iron IV. If ferritin levels are very low, a series of 4 weekly drips (1 drip per week for 4 weeks) is recommended to help you start to feel optimal again while the doctor investigates the root cause for the anemia.
